Working to improve rural internet with the RCU programme
We’re stoked to announce that Wireless Dynamics has been selected as a partner for the Rural Capacity Upgrade (RCU) programme.
The Government recently unveiled the $47m RCU initiative, which has seen them partnering with local internet providers to upgrade capacity on congested rural broadband networks nationwide.
This includes building sites in rural areas to improve performance and speeds for locals that aren’t currently able to access reliable and fast broadband, as well as upgrading the sites we already have in place.
The project is a massive push for rural internet connectivity in New Zealand as it will see 47,000 rural households around the country experiencing faster internet speeds and better reception by the end of 2024.
For Wireless Dynamics this project means we will be increasing capacity within the west coast portion of our network, which includes areas like Taharoa and Kawhia. We expect the upgrades to enhance the experience for over 400 customers and will be completed by 2024.
We are proud to be playing a major role in this vital project, and thrilled that this investment will help us continue our mission of ensuring rural communities and farming families in the King Country have access to fast, reliable and cost-effective broadband.
